Dr. Eisuke Shimizu
Dr. Eisuke Shimizu, MD, PhD, is a Project Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Keio University School of Medicine. A 2013 graduate of Keio University, he specializes in dry eye disease and refractive surgery. In 2016, he founded OUI Inc. in Tokyo, where he developed the “Smart Eye Camera,” a low-cost ophthalmic device enabling remote eye examinations. This innovation, inspired by his volunteer work providing free cataract surgeries in Vietnam, has since been commercialized.
Dr. Shimizu is also a pioneer in AI research for anterior eye segment diagnosis. He has received numerous awards for his dedication to Ophthalmology.
