Philippe Funk stands as a distinguished expert in cyber technologies, whose multidisciplinary career spans academia, research, and entrepreneurship. As President and Founder of the Polytechnic Cyber Institute, Luxembourg's premier accredited online technology school, and an International External Expert to the Slovak Research and Development Agency, Philippe exemplifies the intersection of cutting-edge research and practical innovation.
His academic credentials include dual doctoral pursuits a Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) and PhD in Cyber Technologies, focussing on Nanosatellite optimization, complemented by over 100 professional certifications, certificates and diplomas in various disciplines. As a Key Technology Expert in Quantum Technologies for the European Commission, he advises on critical and emerging digital technologies to inform future EU investments in research, innovation, and deployment.
Philippe research excellence is demonstrated through his role as an active working group member of NASA GeneLab's Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiative and participation in the Quantum Security & Defence working group (QSECDEF). His mission coordination and project management expertise extend to the groundbreaking Cybertech CubeSat Space Program (CCSP), where he serves as Mission Director, pioneering innovative approaches to space-based cybersecurity research.
Beyond technology, Philippe creative achievements are equally remarkable. The first Luxembourg national to win an international award in the USA for his adventure game app in 2015, he has earned over 80 official selections and more than 40 international awards as a music producer and film director. His creative portfolio includes inventing the Sukeima puzzle game, an alternative to Sudoku, alongside recognition as an accomplished painting artist since 2001 and fashion designer.
Currently serving as a Coach at the Digital Learning Hub in Artificial Intelligence for the Defence sector, and Cybersecurity. Luxembourg while pursuing advanced research, Philippe embodies interdisciplinary excellence. His affiliations to numerous international organizations positions him at the forefront of technological innovation and research, making him a pivotal figure in shaping the future of cyber technologies.
